It puts you in control of your own domain, and just happens to reduce our support costs significantly. Don't be fooled by others offering a "web based control panel" they just can't measure up. Back to the top File Manager The file manager allows you to write, name, rename, edit, delete, even set permissions on every file in your account directory. I would have to recommend all writing and editing be done on your own system, so that you always have a backup copy, but if you don't want to you don't have to. And no more complicated command line instructions, like setting permissions via chmod, our file manager lets you set them with a check mark in a box then hit enter. a complete search feature is also available in case you can't remember what you called something, or where you put it. Back to the top Mail Manager The Mail Manager allows you to add mail accounts, change passwords, forward, respond, even bounce mail to certain addresses. You can define mailing lists, and newsletters, allowing others to opt in and out automatically. I have used other hosting services in years gone by and this is the most POWER given directly to the user I have ever seen. Back to the top Password protect If your business is words, music, pictures, downloads or even a club, how can you sell that if everyone can get it. Some have tried secret URL's only to find out that if one person knows it then everyone does. The scripts, and services for protecting private material are branded and never do they look like a REAL password box. Our password protected directories are very easy to use, and very secure. In fact, since we use Real services not cheap imitations, even Internet Explorer will recognize the password box and let visitors save their password if they like. Select the name of as many separate counters as you like, even select the number you want them to start with. Any time you feel like it you can start the count over or bump it up a bit. In fact if you wish to get your own certificate, with your own name and address, you can do this yourself, right on our server control panel. You can generate the Certificate Signing Request to send to Thwarte or Verisign, and install the resulting Certificate quite easily with just cut-n-paste, all the instructions are right there. You can even practice by installing your own homemade certificate (every bit as secure as the real thing) and it's great for secret club type information. Where else can you get that kind of service? Where else are you treated like such a competent, responsible member as to be given such power over your own domain? He had advertised that they were a standard feature, they never worked and when I requested them from the support guy, I got one months worth and they were never updated after that till the day I moved out. Some Hosts only give you the numbers, and not many of them, some only give a .gif of what your stats look like -- what's THAT all about? I used one host for six months and the stats were updated when ever he "felt like it." When he went on vacation I got nothing!
